Odisha Society UK (OSUK)

OSUK has established 40 years ago as a voluntary organization looking after the social and cultural needs of Odias settled here in the United Kingdom. Odisha is a state in India with rich cultural heritage. Our organization has grown from strength to strength and has evolved as a link between Odisha and UK. Our vision is to promote Odia culture and ethos among people interested in Odisha. We regularly organize social and cultural events. The society encourages developmental activities and imbibing British and Odia cultures. Our members have always supported various charities and donated generously for any philanthropic causes.

Dear All,

I am reaching out to all of you again, on behalf of OSUK. As you all know, our beloved state of Odisha was struck with the disaster FANI recently. OSUK as an organisation quickly recognised the need of the hour, convened an emergency meeting and decided to go for a collection drive. This has been widely circulated in social media amongst friends and families and we will continue this drive which has always been part of OSUK’s objectives.

Our preparation has been in full swing with the help of our dedicated volunteers. Ideas have been flying from different quarters on the menu, suggestions for some exclusive Odia dishes, trying to obtain ingredients from India through friends coming to the UK.

Conversations with personalities to come and grace the occasion have been ongoing, although the Indian elections have dampened the spirit but not stopped us from our initiative. Our local cultural team is also in touch with various artists from India to complement our local artists. One of our preferred troupes for the event was from Puri district, unfortunately, their village was devastated by the cyclone. Despite this, they have reached out to us and are still eager to come to showcase their talent which shows their spirit to continue to excel and achieve.

We have also launched an exclusive website for the event where you can keep YOURSELF updated with all things OSUK 2019! This website is part of OSUK main website and will remain till next year’s event. The registration is now open under the new link and our personal request to you all to register as early as possible.
